2003
JANUARY - Aaron Dlugasch is welcomed to the band as their new drummer.
The band spends the next few months working on new material and gearing
for the completion of their 4 song EP.
JUNE - TWOTONRHINO wraps production of their 4-song EP. Aptly titled "FOUR,"
due for release sometime in summer 2003, is a success. The band also redesigns
TWOTONRHINO.com.
JULY - TWOTONRHINO.COM
is relaunched. TTR begins process of setting a release date for "FOUR."
2002
JANUARY - TWOTONRHINO kicks off the New Year with a performance in New
York City at The Continental.
FEBRUARY 4 - In addition to tensions mounting high in the band and serious
conflicts spinning out of control in his personal life, Moshe Yosef and
TWOTONRHINO amicably agree to part ways. All TTR can do is wish Moe the
best as the production of "Random Thought" is canceled. It is a sad day
for the band, but the remaining members look ahead and plan for the future.
FEBRUARY 16 - Mike
Hollis joins the band as their new lead guitarist. Jay and Mike immediately
begin long and intense writing sessions over the next several weeks and
produce enough material for another full length CD.
APRIL - Jay and Mike continue work on 4 songs from the aforementioned
recording. 4 song EP is set for release in early summer 2002.
MAY 17 - TWOTONRHINO performs at The Continental. It is also Richard's
last performance with the band, as he decides to change the direction
of his career and seeks to be a full time studio musician in addition
to other project commitments. The band wishes him well. He will be missed
for everything he has done for the band.
JULY - Mike marries his long time girlfriend, Jennifer, in a beautiful
ceremony in New Jersey.
DECEMBER - The band
nears completion of the production of their upcoming 4 song EP.
2001
JANUARY - With over 20 songs written, TWOTONRHINO sets its sight on recording
all material written over the last 5 months.
FEBRUARY - Richard Hutchins, formerly of "Ruin" and "Live Skull", joins
TTR as the bands drummer on a permanent basis.
MAY - TWOTONRHINO begins full-blown production of its first full length
CD, "Random Thought" as the band begins live performances in NYC.
AUGUST - Production of CD is halted. Band continues live performances.
OCTOBER - The band experiences negative interruptions in chemistry as
they try to put the CD back into production.
2000
MARCH - TWOTONRHINO retains the services of entertainment attorney Richard
P. Dieguez. TTR begins to search for a replacement for Roman Geyzer as
well.
AUGUST - After tireless months of auditioning drummers and not able to
find a suitable candidate, TTR looks into once again working with a rotation
of drummers for New York City performances.
SEPTEMBER - TWOTONRHINO begins preproduction of 1st full length CD.
1999
FEBRUARY - Due to an altercation on a Brooklyn street, in addition to
injuries during training, Jay suffers a sprained right hand and has to
withdraw from Golden Gloves Tournament as a result.
MAY - TWOTONRHINO begins part-time practice at FastLanes studios.
JULY - Jay begins training for the Daily News Golden Gloves 2000 season.
DECEMBER - TWOTONRHINO once again begins full-time rehearsals. Band decides
not to invite longtime drummer Robert Gracci back into the band citing
differences in chemistry. During thie time, Jay is once again forced to
step down from possible Golden Glove contention as time constraints conflict
with his training schedule.
1998
JANUARY - TTR begins production of 4th recording. Jay lays down bass tracks
to "Put Me Together" and a talent to play bass is recognized by the rest
of the band. Jay begins to practice playing the bass professionally in
hopes of performing as both vocalist and bassist for the band in the very
near future. The recording will take the next 5 months to complete as
the band experiences major conflicts in scheduling and chemistry.
JUNE - Jay Cascio is awarded his graduates college. Moshe, Alon and select
family members attend his graduation ceremony.
JULY - Frontman Jay Cascio announces he will enter the 1999 Daily News
Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament in addition to his responsibilities to
TWOTONRHINO.
OCTOBER - TTR is once again put on temporary hiatus. Band decides to take
some time to figure out its direction and place in the music industry.
During hiatus, Jay writes new material on his own as his vocal and bass
playing skills enhance.
1997
FEBRUARY - TTR begins production of yet untitled EP.
MARCH - During production of EP, guitarist Moshe Yosef's mother succumbs
to breast cancer after a long and hard bout with the disease. She is laid
to rest the next day. As a result, Moshe is forced to step down from the
band temporarily to assume responsibility for his household and help care
for his younger siblings.
APRIL - TTR is put on summer hiatus after the recording is completed.
The EP is shelved indefinitely as no immediate promotional plans to support
the recording are defined.
SEPTEMBER - TWOTONRHINO reunites and begins rehearsals. Band decides to
drop any plans for last recording and record a newer material. As frontman
Jay Cascio spent the whole summer writing new lyrics, the band agreed
it to be a good idea to record new material for the previously planned
EP.
NOVEMBER - Founding member Alon Fischer is forced to relinquish his role
as bass player indefinitely due to outside conflicts. TTR tours with various
bass players throughout the rest of 1997 and most of 1998.
1996
MARCH - TWOTONRHINO wraps up its second recording with the help of good
friend Soren Spano contributing on drums. TTR begins search for new drummer
and invites longtime friend Roman Geyzer aboard as its newest member.
His energy and hard hitting style behind the drum kit compliment the bands
style of alternative hard rock music.
JUNE - TWOTONRHINO begins a summer-long tour in support of its second
recording.
AUGUST - TWOTONRHINO opens up for Shango at Lauterbachs in Downtown Brooklyn
during a mixed show of alternative and metal bands.
DECEMBER - TTR begins pre-production of 1st EP to be released on NYC independent
label Modern Rush Entertainment.
1995
FEBRUARY - TTR goes into studio and begins production of recording.
APRIL - In middle of recording, Jake commits to full time to another project
he had been working with and is ultimately forced to leave the band. TTR
manages to complete the recording and begins distribution of 1st demo
to New York City public for free.
JULY - TWOTONRHINO plays its 1st show ever at New York City's legendary
venue CBGB's with new drummer Dominick Aiello.
AUGUST - Just 4 days after their first show, CBGB's invites TTR back to
the venue for another performance. TTR continues to perform shows at various
New York City venues throughout the rest of the summer.
SEPTEMBER - Due to heart ailments, Dominick is forced to retire from the
band as drummer. TTR holds off on replacing him and decides to concentrate
on writing new material to perform the following summer.
1994
APRIL 15, 1994 - Jay Cascio (vocals), Moshe Yosef (guitar) and Alon Fischer
(bass) unite to form TWOTONRHINO as the rest of the world mourns the loss
of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. The band begins week-long writing sessions
at Brooklyn's famous FastLanes studios. 1 week after TWOTONRHINO is formed,
frontman Jay Cascio's younger bother is shot 3 times during a robbery
as he was working behind the counter of a small Brooklyn deli. Band practice
is canceled for 1 month as Jay assists his brother with his rehabilitation,
as the 3 bullets that pierced his left shoulder made caring for himself
difficult. In the years forthcoming, he would make a full recovery, but
it would take a lot of time, surgery and rehab to have the function of
Mark's left arm returned to normal.
MAY - TTR returns to studio and continues to write material.
JUNE - Drummer Sammy Barsano joins the band on an interim basis. He assists
TTR with rehearsals throughout the next 6 months.
NOVEMBER - Jake Caccomo replaces Sammy Barsano on drums.
DECEMBER - TTR begins pre-production of bands first demo.
